Shoes of Glass is, as commented in a post last night, a bit of an experiment for me. Time and again I'll say I enjoy connecting and talking with people who enjoy what I do - I'm a person before author but I'll leave that talk for the retrospective post later on.

Point is Shoes of Glass has come about predominantly through talking and discussing things with people interested in this sort of thing. A premise was suggested, molded and later made to fit the monthly story challenges I take a part in. This month wanted addiction and stockings as prompts. It fit all too well.

Originally, the story challenge piece was going to be a chapter for 'Queen of Sands', expanding the monstergirl universe from Deity of the Desert, after the 5 star reviews the first two got, making me want to develop on the story of Zo'qeth and its Queen. After I got talking about this premise though, it took over.

It was nice to get back into writing some BDSM stuff again, if only really in principle. Erica is just beginning her venture into really trying and enjoying the title of Mistress, for her very personal reasons. There's a lot of focus on the thrill of power, manipulation and control that comes with dominance for her. For Daniel, of course, he's wrapped around her little finger and can't seem to stop wanting it. The freedom he gains from being with her is its own rush, and while he might not quite understand it yet, he likes the way she looks at and talks to him compared to other people. 

It's a story that's going to go places, and it's starting here. Now you're wondering where the usual excerpt is - that's where this release is a bit of an experiment too. The next post down has the story challenge version of this publication in full. Releasing a full story on the blog and selling it at the same time? I must be mad! Well, chances are you're right. 

There's some method though, it's the story challenge version which has a 7k word limit. I've had to cut some things out and other things short. I've gone back and extended those for publishing, maybe not doubled in content as with Hot, Wet & Tied Up or Deity of the Desert expanding into three volumes, but it's not quite the same story. It's a sample, or a short, an idea of the sort of content and emotion I put into my work.

There are other factors, such as the the number of people that have influenced the story, it needed to be publicly shared with them, the connotations of ownership and support that come with buying, that this is the start of what could develop into several volumes and that traffic is very transient. Why yes, two release posts in a row. I'd make a joke about being on fire but this release was handled under a torrent of water in the shower, with my patented rubber duckie laptop. I'm trying to cut back on the sleeptalking posts too, but I have had a couple interesting thoughts to carry while writing.

It's a very fun story, with a little history both in its characters narrative and development. It also now has the history of being a bit awkward for me to release. Now, yes, I realise this cover was a bit explicit and that was my fault. That's alright, I worked on fixing it and I'm quite happy with what I've gotten out of the process, but as such, yes, I have had to re-release this book with a different cover and title as a workaround for issues with flagging. But I like this title better anyway. It'll show up on Amazon at some point soon now, links are back in business, and ideally not trip any filtering. I'll talk about what happened another time.

For those that know of what I've done with story challenges in the past, this was my first. As such, it creates a good example of what I intend to do with my story challenges when I come back to and flesh them out. While the original piece was a 6,000 maximum, this one has bridged over 14,000 if you discount the license note and author dialogue in the back. I like to take that moment to connect with people who've read through something of mine, but I can't claim it's entirely book content.

So what's changed, and what makes this good? Well, to compare it to Down the Bunny Hole, I do a lot of editing and reformatting of existing content. Comparatively  Bunny Hole is just pulled straight from its posting, formatted and published. That doesn't at all mean Bunny is bad or lacking attention, I do of course run edit and proofreading passes on everything I write regardless of where it ends up, but I did release it initially free and later at a lower price range where I earn 35% of sale because it's not getting the full nine yards of reshine - yet. That's fine, and serves its own purpose, however much I'm only understanding the purpose as I go along.

In addition to giving 'Hot, Wet & Tied Up' that much more love and attention to the base of content I had to build up from, it's given me something to launch momentum on, and I've enjoyed that quite a bit. End result is giving the core scene of shower sex and the two girls involved in it more build up with completely different sexy scenes. Jessica loves tying her girl up, so now that I'm not restrained by word limit, I could really work in the scenes of their interaction, including Jessica's dominance and their shared love of just a little toe-curling pain dished out in punishment after leaving her petgirl tied up alone for an hour with a wand vibe set to low for company.

There's both orgasm denial and forced orgasms, BDSM lifestyle, kinky and possibly silly use of rope in bondage, lots of soap and loving lesbian sex. A nice change from some of my darker erotica while still being that little bit different and kinky in its own right.

Cinders of the Soul - A Short Story

This month's story challenge piece ended up a bit different. Different from my initial intent and different from what I started writing it as, even. Initially, I wrote it beginning from in the midst of a serving girl's 'service' in Theater Royal, but due to the intricacies of the time, a lot of what I was writing didn't really match up. For reference, I wanted to place the story around the Great Fire of London, 1666. I wanted to use the fire as a central focus for the shift in life and the tragedy that sets things in motion, but the more I researched to do it justice, the more it pointed out things that disjointed my writing. 

In the end I could likely have worked around it easier than the way I did, but as with it being a story challenge of 6k maximum, and ending on 5,999, available pacing and timeline is something to be considered. Also why I post these as more a sampler of style and content than a fuller publication. As with Down the Bunny Hole I have a wealth of things in mind for this story, but more so than that piece, even.

I have around 3k words worth of pre-story written to go in on what is essentially Alice's life as an aristocratic whore. A serving girl in the theater, if you like, as historians agree they delivered more than drinks and messages to the nobility. I have ideas for expanding on her life on returning to London, of her relationship with the two men, one her own age and one his Father. Perhaps he'll have her call him Daddy while  twirling the waxed edge of his moustache and giving her bottom a good thrashing. I say.

Be that as it may, what I have to offer today is something a little more odd, and of course cut short. It's incest, but is it really incest is what I wonder. No, not "pseudo-incest" to get it past publishers, I mean... well, you'll see.

Down the Bunny Hole: Erotic short story ebook format published.

Settled down to doing one thing at a time and gotten my recent short story down into an ebook format for publishing before getting into the grit of working through terminology and lore for Daemonique. It's also been a slow and busy couple of weeks dealing with some extraneous issues, but it should pick up momentum some.

The cover art didn't take all that long and I'm quite happy with it, really, but then it was easy enough when the ornate bunny mask was one of the main things I really wanted to capture with the cover in a way that possibly couldn't be conveyed in writing. Sometimes the image is just an easier way to put it across clearly.

Settled on greens and leaves vector with it fading into darkness because of the sense of nature and slipping into the wilds the story takes on at its main shift of worlds. Everything else just fell into place around it quite nicely, I think.

As to the story itself, I've talked about it a lot already, including in my previous post, but I'm interested to see where things will go with this. I've really captured a good number of aspects and kinks in this story, a lot of them just teasers for the imagination or promise of being fleshed out in future releases, and I think both this shorter publication of it and a longer, more expensively priced piece would work towards their own ends.

With this shorter piece, it leaves the reader to put themselves in the world as and where they please, to self-insert voyeurism of the window-pressing anal scene from another house that can see the couple, or using her unconscious body. It's shorter, so it won't fufil those kinks to the fullest, but it does tantalize them, and more, more exotic sorts later in.

I do intend to come back to doing more with this, and I'm going through past posts to edit and emphasise the changes I've made to the story's purpose. Those things would be more fleshed out and serve as events both before, during and after this story. For instance I already have a story branch for what would be the early voyeurism to potentially develop into blackmail, public encounters and cuckolding.

Next Story Challenge & Daemonique

So hopefully people have been enjoying the free short story Down the Bunny Hole, and quick on its bobtail I get the next month's challenge. This one's quite interesting, really, and I've already got a good something in mind for it. Something I again could develop well past a margin of 6k words, but as is, it'd fit into that allotment quite easily. There's a lot of wiggle and cut I can put on it.

What was the challenge?

Creating a story that includes a theme, or tag, of 'Telekinesis'. Additional optional prompts include gloves, gunpowder and lipstick. A strange mix, you'd think? Well of course it doesn't all have to be used at the same time or even sexually, that might be a little dangerous, but mind you danger can be a very strongly erotic thing too.

So what am I doing with it?

I have a rather interesting idea, maybe a little off the wall and even creepy but I think that's what's going to make it good, and even potentially heartwarming. It'll touch on loss in a way that many of us are fortunate enough to never truly feel, and then how that loss and heartbreak leads to seclusion and a little soul searching. Doesn't sound very erotic yet, does it? Well, seclusion, sorrow, a little black magic and finding what you didn't think you were looking for can really twist the heart and mind.

Indulgence is a wicked thing, and who's to say the things we cling to for comfort in the darkest days are to be shunned? And is it really incest if it's only a doll?

I may have said too much, there.

Need to know more, when's it out?

At the very latest, April 18th is the deadline for it, but I have a pretty good feeling about this story and it's premise. I'd just like to get back on top of publishing releases a little. The second volume of Daemonique will take the tone and direction into a sharp, downward twist that lets me open up the underground kingdom within their demonic prison the host have cultivated. It's also something I'm going to have to be careful with since it includes a lot of cum and demonic rape that the first volume denied by force of will that won't be enough to protect Sylenna in this installment. 

What makes it difficult is I don't want to get too out of hand and offensive. The important things I'm looking to capture are demonic power, the overwhelming mass of a crowd's lust, and being shared between them to such a point as to be exhausted and covered from knife-ear tip to toe in the stuff.

Down the Bunny Hole: An Erotic Short Story.

Story Challenge for March is done, so I'll be sharing it here and later on publishing it to the usual suspects. It weighs in on the shorter side at 5,958 words with perhaps less fully established scenes as I would usually like, but that's why I can post it this way for sake of sharing and familiarity with my style. Coming back to this post a month later, I've now shifted it to a cheap priced publication, and cutting this into a shorter sample. I intend to come back and work on Bunny Hole pre-and-post events into a higher priced publication soon.

That said, I'm really quite happy with the pace of it and how many effective scenes, kinks and themes I managed to jam in, so I almost wonder if it isn't publishable in this state already, but no. I try to get that little something more out of priced work, so I wouldn't accept publishing something strictly limited the way this was for sake of challenge when I know I could really fill out some of the 'only implied' kinks and moment.

Synopsis: Michelle has grown almost dependent on Mike's strong embrace and dominance over her these past two years.
